About Link2QR
Link2QR is an independent, self-funded project, not a trial version of a paid product and not a front for a larger subscription service. It exists to do one thing well: turn a link, a WiFi network, a contact card, or any of a dozen other inputs into a QR code you own outright, for free. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads so the tool itself can stay free, with no accounts and no paywall.
What is Link2QR?
Link2QR is a free, privacy-first, browser-based QR code generator. Everything runs locally in your browser - your data never leaves your device. There are no accounts to create, no subscriptions to manage, and no limits on how many QR codes you can generate.
What You Get
- 18 QR code types - URL, WiFi, vCard, email, phone, SMS, calendar events, geo location, Bitcoin, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, PayPal, Google review, GS1 product, and multi-link
- 32 design templates - ready-made templates across restaurant, business, event, payment, home, and social categories
- Batch CSV support - generate a QR code for every row in a spreadsheet at once
- 18 artistic QR styles - dot, line, wave, and other patterned renders that are still built to stay scannable
- Full customization - colors, logos, corner and dot shapes, error correction levels, and export as PNG, JPEG, SVG, animated SVG, PDF, GIF, or STL
How It's Built
Link2QR is a Next.js application. QR rendering runs entirely in your browser using the open-source qr-code-styling and react-qrbtf libraries; the scanner and decode tools use jsQR, also client-side. There is no backend that receives, stores, or processes the content you put into a QR code.
What Data We Collect (and Don't)
The content you type into the generator - a URL, a WiFi password, a vCard, a CSV file for batch generation - is encoded on your device and never transmitted to us. The site itself does use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to measure aggregate traffic, and Google AdSense to serve the ads that keep the tool free, which set standard analytics and advertising cookies. Full details, including your opt-out options, are in the Privacy Policy.

- May 16, 2026Tightened the homepage's structured data for AI answer engines (Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot).
- May 13, 2026General improvements to how the site surfaces its tools to new visitors.
- May 10, 2026Removed the QR-generation history feature, added live style previews to the homepage feature cards, and compressed homepage images from 5.6 MB to about 0.5 MB.
- May 9, 2026Launched the guide library: the /learn hub, the blog, and about twenty new how-to and use-case pages, each with its own metadata and schema.
Our Philosophy
No signup
Start creating immediately
Browser-based
Your QR content stays on your device
No expiration
QR codes work forever
No watermark
Clean, professional output
Most QR code generators force you to create an account, limit your downloads, add watermarks, or expire your codes after a trial period. Link2QR does none of that. We believe QR code generation should be a simple utility - free and accessible to everyone.
Who It's For
- Developers - embed QR generation in your workflow with our URL API, batch tools, and open approach
- Small businesses - create QR codes for business cards, menus, Google reviews, and storefronts
- Teachers & educators - share classroom resources, assignment links, and WiFi credentials instantly
